Cookies and similar technologies.
Orbitrain uses a small number of cookies and browser storage mechanisms to keep you signed in, protect the service from abuse, and measure how the site performs.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Local storage and session storage serve a similar purpose for web applications. Orbitrain uses all three where needed to operate the service.
This policy covers both the marketing site at orbitrain.com and the apprenticeship product at app.orbitrain.com.
2. Types we use
Essential
These are required for the service to function. They maintain your authenticated session, prevent cross-site request forgery, and allow the product to remember your progress within a session. Without them, you cannot sign in or use the apprenticeship.
Essential storage includes the Supabase auth token, the Turnstile anti-bot challenge token, and your current session identifier. These are set when you begin or return and are removed when you sign out.
Functional
The product stores your interface preferences locally on your device. This includes theme preference, dismissed notices, and your last-viewed position in a room or session. These improve your experience but are not required for the service to function.
Analytics and performance
We collect anonymised or pseudonymous performance data to understand how the site behaves in real browsers. This includes page load timing, interaction latency, and error reports. Sentry is used for error monitoring. Analytics events are sent to our own API when you are authenticated.
No advertising cookies
Orbitrain does not use advertising cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party advertising networks. We do not sell data to advertisers.
3. Third-party services
The following providers may set cookies or use browser storage when you interact with Orbitrain:
- Supabase — authentication session tokens and security tokens.
- Cloudflare — Turnstile anti-bot challenge, edge security, and bot management.
- Sentry — error tracking and performance monitoring. Sentry receives error and performance data, not your learning content.
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy. Orbitrain configures these services to collect only what is needed for their role.
4. Your controls
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block, delete, or inspect cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or using the apprenticeship.
When you are signed in, you can delete your account and all associated data through the product settings. This removes server-side data. Cookies on your device can be cleared through your browser.
5. Changes
This policy may change as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
